9to5 National Association of Working Women - Colorado Chapter has been involved in many activities to help put an end to poverty. We have been active spokespersons at the capitol — advocating for a bill that extends child care benefits, supporting legislation to end the use of credit scores during hiring processes, and advocating against bills that punish and stereotype low-income families, including a bill that would require drug testing for all welfare recipients. Beyond actions at the capitol, we have been involved in several activities including:

  • Gathering EITC/CTC stories at free tax sites,
  • Building a team of grasstops leaders to focus on national economic security issues, and
  • Developing leaders within our communities to speak out against poverty.
